Colophon

This website was originally built in September 2025 using the static site generator Eleventy. The backend was then rebuilt in August 2026, primarily to enable an ActivityPub server, so that my blog posts could be published and shared on the Fediverse. I also took this opportunity to make some small design updates.

The backend is a custom web server and single user ActivityPub instance written in Lua. Why Lua? Because Lua is a scripting language you can love. The HTTP server uses lua-http. The ActivityPub implementation is relatively vanilla. The HTML is generated using Riki's amazing Lua HTML DSL.

The fonts used are Atkinson Hyperlegible Next by the Braille Institute of America and Applied Design Works, and Young Serif by NoirBlancRouge Type Foundry. These were chosen for their generous, humanist personalities and ease of reading.

The beautiful fox illustration is by Fuschkind (Daniela Schreichter). The labyrinth logo - a symbol close to my heart - is adapted from an open source design on Wikimedia Commons.

This site, like most of my sites, is hosted by the fine people at BitFolk.
